Here is a motley assortment of things our family did this past month that we’ve never done before:
- Ordered pizza online for (gasp!) delivery. It’s probably been more than a decade for pizza delivery of any sort to our house.
- Ate pizza from Papa John’s (which we thought was the same thing as Papa Murphy’s take-and-bake because of the “Papa’s” thing)
- Verdict: not bad for a franchise. We liked ours “well done” instead of “normal bake”.
- Decadent finish: the dessert pizza aka Cinnapie.
- Played Force Unleashed on the Wii
- Played a multi-player online game (Team Fortress 2) with total strangers (yes, we’re old school with the computer games in the Chen household)
- Played Steam games (Portal and Torchlight) on a Mac (must…port…Team Fortress 2!)
- Played a sampling of games on the iPad, including Angry Birds and We Rule
- Watched episodes of Top Chef Masters and Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution (the latter on Hulu via a laptop connected to our Panasonic projector using an HDMI cable)
- Watched Netflix on the Wii
- Actually biked to work on Bike to Work Day
- “Liked” Facebook pages not on Facebook
- Attended a trade show with an iPad (the perfect trade show companion, I must say — so long as the venue offers Wi-Fi)
- Had 3 complete strangers come up to me to ask if I liked my iPad
- Paid for BART parking using the fancy machines
- Saw not one but two eye-popping 3D technology demos at work
- Enjoyed a surprise birthday party for an adult (thanks, Christine & Brad!)
- Subscribed to the Economist with frequent flyer miles
